Wade grew up on the farm just like his dad, his brothers and sisters, their dad, his parents, and many other Moores before them. They've been around Cleveland, NC, for more than 100 years! It's safe to say they're well-established in the area. I was born and raised just over 1,000 miles away from our North Carolina farm in Austin, Texas. Wade and I met at a short track in Mobile, Alabama, and tried the long-distance thing for a while, but less than a year after purchasing a town home in downtown Fort Worth I packed it up and moved to North Carolina to follow my heart. It wasn't long after my brother, and I both moved away that my parents ended up following us - mostly to be closer to their grandkids. So now we're all one big happy family keeping each other Company here in North Carolina!
More about Wade and I:
Michail - Born and raised in Austin, TX. Pretty athletic, if I say so myself. I was on the Varsity track team my freshman year and competed on the school and club soccer and volleyball teams. I couldn't keep up with it all and decided to stick with soccer. I attended Texas Christian University, where I played on the Club soccer team, studied Business Administration, and received my BBA. I fell in love with Fort Worth and the stockyards and hope to one day have a second home there so I can visit any time I want. There's just no place like it. I love the Carolinas, too, and our family has been blessed since moving here. I've been working for two family businesses since 2017, but it's about time to hang my hat on one of those to focus more of my time on our homestead, family, and estate planning. We want to build a legacy that we can pass down to our children and grandchildren, and that's what Moore + Co. is all about for us.
Wade - Born and Raised in Cleveland, NC. If you ever meet his parents they'll leave zero doubts about how much they love and how proud they are of their son. His dad has countless stories that start off at a ballfield or with the line, "remember that game in ...". Wade's baseball career gave his family so many awesome memories that they'll look back on for the rest of their lives. Wade played baseball and football in high school and was an all-star athlete that set records for both. I've seen all the saved newspaper clippings and rings to prove it. Wade chose baseball in the end and played at North Carolina State University until the Washington Nationals drafted him. He played within their program for a few years and made some lifelong friendships, but couldn't stay healthy and got a little burnt out. When he came home he finished his business degree and received an opportunity to try out for an over-the-wall crew position at a couple NASCAR teams here in North Carolina. He started his pit crew career in 2014 and we met at his very first race - My brother was driving in the ARCA racing series and Wade just happened to be on his car that season. Wade is still working in the NASCAR industry and is one of the top carriers on pit road, he kills it every NASCAR Sunday and we're obviously super proud to be his family. On top of that he has his hands in two other family businesses and the new build. Somehow he balances it all and keeps his head on straight!
We used to refer to the farm as the Moore Brothers Farm because Wade's dad and two uncles have continued working the land, rasing cattle, and keeping up with the buildings, but we wanted to pay homage to everyone that's worked tirelessly on the land like Wade's grandmother or those that may not necessarily have the Moore name. Extended family, or women who were born Moores and grew up on the farm, working in the gardens or with the animals before they got married. These are the folks we had in mind that we wanted to honor.
